Historical Azerbaijan-EU MoU

A clever man with an unlimited propensity for the usual criticism of EU-Azerbaijan relations for lack of practical action in the field of energy was finally silenced yesterday. Baku and Brussels signed a historic MoU, envisaging a holistic design, ranging from investment in Azerbaijan’s gas sector, including field exploration and the existing gas pipeline, increasing export volumes to Europe, and the fundamentals of the gradual transition to renewable energies.

Resettlement of citizens in Aghali village of Zangilan is underway

The Great Return process began with the return of natives of Aghali village of Zangilan to their homes, the Azerbaijani territories liberated from Armenian occupation in 2020. A total of 10 families, consisting of 58 people, have already been resettled in the village of Aghali. . Over the next five days, 41 families (201 people) will also be resettled in Aghali village.

Speakers of Azerbaijani, Turkish and Pakistani parliaments sign Istanbul Declaration

Azerbaijan, Turkey and Pakistan signed a declaration as part of the second trilateral meeting of Speakers of Parliaments in Istanbul, Turkey, on 21 July. In their statements to the press after the signing ceremony, Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Sahiba Gafarova, as well as her and their Pakistani counterparts Mustafa Sentop and Raja Pervaiz Ashraf respectively – underlined that the signed Istanbul Declaration is of great significance in terms of the further development of relations between the three brotherly countries.

Armenia builds combat position in Khojaly in Azerbaijan in violation of trilateral agreement

The Armenian Armed Forces launched engineering, technical and construction work to establish combat positions in the village of Shushakend, Khojaly region, on July 19. To prevent this illegal conduct, which violates the trilateral agreement on the surrender of Armenia, units of the Azerbaijani armed forces fired warning shots and took all necessary precautions, including contacting the command of the peacekeepers detachment temporarily in charge of the area. A troop of blue helmets arrived at the scene of the event an hour later.

Azerbaijan and the EU in favor of the early signing of a comprehensive agreement

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and EU High Representative for External Relations and Security Policy Josep Borrell said both sides were in favor of reaching a comprehensive agreement soon. The parties made the remarks during the 18th meeting of the Azerbaijan-European Union Cooperation Council which was held under the co-chairmanship of Bayramov and Borrell in Brussels on July 19.

Korea provides grant to Azerbaijan

The concept behind the $2 million grant project is to prepare a strategic roadmap for innovation, in order to increase the effectiveness of innovation policy in Azerbaijan.

The year 2022 marks the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Egypt, and Azernews will focus on some major aspects of the two nations’ 30-year history. During these years, Azerbaijani-Egyptian relations have developed constructively in bilateral and multilateral formats.

Ink agreement between Azerbaijan and Germany for the manufacture of aluminum products

Azerbaijan and Germany have signed an agreement for the establishment of a joint venture for the production of aluminum products. The document was signed between the Azerbaijan Industrial Corporation OJSC and the German company Achenbach Buschhütten. Within the framework of the cooperation, the production of aluminum rolling products in Ganja, with an annual production capacity of 105,000 tons and an investment of 132 million dollars in the first phase is planned.

Azerbaijan and Turkey sign MoU in social protection sector

Azerbaijan and Turkey signed a memorandum of understanding in the social protection sector. The document was signed between Azerbaijani Minister of Labor and Social Security Sahil Babayev and Turkish Minister of Family and Social Services Derya Yanik, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan. The memorandum aims to develop social protection projects for people with disabilities, the elderly, children, women, veterans and families of martyrs, as well as to exchange knowledge, experiences and improve services.

Historical artifact returns to Azerbaijan

A historical artifact has been returned to Azerbaijan. Director of the Azerbaijani Cultural Center of the International Azerbaijan-Israel Association (AzIs), Yegana Salman, donated an ancient clay vat to the National History Museum. A historical artifact was taken to Israel by an Azerbaijani citizen in the early 1990s of the 20th century.

The queen of jazz will perform in Baku

After a long break, Aziza Mustafazada, nicknamed the queen of jazz, will once again delight her fans in Baku. The concert of a renowned jazz pianist will take place at the Baku Congress Center on October 30.

New research project on mud volcanoes

Mud volcanoes in Azerbaijan have been placed under scientific control. Speaking to reporters, Vice President of the National Academy of Sciences Ibrahim Guliyev said the work was being carried out under the project implemented with the funds of an international grant won by the academy. The National Academy of Sciences has installed 22 stations – special sensors, including those around volcanoes.

The memory of an eminent mugham singer honored in Brussels

Rock Festival by the Caspian Sea

So far, the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) has announced that the 2022 Asian Games will be held in Hangzhou, China from September 23 to October 8, 2023 .

Chainsmokers to perform at the edge of space

The Chainsmokers will become the first musicians to perform at the edge of space. The American DJ and electronic production duo have signed a contract to participate in one of the first flights organized by World View, a space tourism company. The band members will be placed in an airtight capsule for the concert.
